3 Ingredients To Obtain A Goal

Three Ingredients To Obtain A Goal Are:

PATIENCE

FAITH

ACTION

Patience = Peace

Faith = Believing Your Goal Exists

Action = Creating It

James 1: 4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Hebrews 11:

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Don’t Waste Opportunity

In Matthew 25 the Bible talks about the ten virgins, the parable of the talents, the sheep and goats.

Five of the virgins were wise and five were foolish, one servant with the five talents earned 5 more, one servant with two talents gained two more also.  But the one who received one talent dug in the ground and hid his Lord’s money. The sheep and the goats are separated as to how they have served others.

Are we ready for the Master’s return? Are we multiplying the money given to us? Are we helping others in need?

I believe the Lord wants us to be faithful in our relationship with him, our finances, and our spiritual gifts.

It takes a close relationship with the Father to be led by the spirit and be ready for his return. It takes money to have what we need and be able to give. It takes compassion, use of our spiritual gifts, time and money to clothe, feed, visit the sick, and prisoners.

None of us as Christians are exempt from these things or from being a good steward over what God has given us.

The one servant who hid his Lord’s money because he was afraid did not take any of it or waste it. We read He gave it back to his master just as he was given.  He was afraid to use what he was given.  What the servant with one talent really wasted was an opportunity!

Today embrace your relationship with God, be a good steward over what you have been given, and don’t waste opportunities!

Matthew 25 “Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept.

“And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming;[a] go out to meet him!’ Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.

11 “Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ 12 But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’

13 “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour[b] in which the Son of Man is coming.

The Parable of the Talents

14 “For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. 15 And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey. 16 Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents. 17 And likewise he who had received two gained two more also. 18 But he who had received one went and dug in the ground, and hid his lord’s money. 19 After a long time the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them.

20 “So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.’ 21 His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ 22 He also who had received two talents came and said, ‘Lord, you delivered to me two talents; look, I have gained two more talents besides them.’ 23 His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’

24 “Then he who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25 And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours.’

26 “But his lord answered and said to him, ‘You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. 27 So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest. 28 Therefore take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents.

29 ‘For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. 30 And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

The Son of Man Will Judge the Nations

31 “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy[c] angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. 32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. 33 And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’

41 “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: 42 for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; 43 I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’

44 “Then they also will answer Him,[d] saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’ 45 Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ 46 And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

We MUST read God’s Word!

As a leader and child of God, it is our duty and privilege to read the Bible.  Practice reading God’s word daily.  As you mediate and live by the principles written therein, you will stay on the right path and have good success.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 ESV

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.

Psalm 119:105 ESV

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Joshua 1:8 ESV

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

Although we know we should read the Word of God, too many times other things seem to get in the way of this most important area of our lives!  I had good intentions but it seemed I just couldn’t fit reading the Bible into my daily schedule.  I had too much to do and my intentions to read never came about!

Finally I realized that I can never be the person I want to be, if I don’t read the Bible and pray daily!  After all, I claim to be a Christian.  How could I become all God wants me to be if  I’m not allowing the Holy Spirit to teach me?  Now I have a morning routine that keeps me on track for the rest of the day.  If you struggle finding time to read the Word of God, make it a priority and set a schedule to read and pray.  Allow the Holy Spirit to  draw you to read His word.  Start with small chunks of time, and soon you will realize how precious and exciting it is to read God’s word and hear from Him.  Your days will go much smoother and your relationship with the Father will grow.

Wisdom

My prayer this morning was, Lord don’t let me die in my ways, but let me LIVE in yours. God’s ways are not our ways. His ways are much higher and better than ours. Proverbs 3:13-15 New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)
The True Wealth:
13 Happy are those who find wisdom,
and those who get understanding,
14 for her income is better than silver,
and her revenue better than gold.
15 She is more precious than jewels,
and nothing you desire can compare with her.
In every business manner, in our relationships, in our finances, in every decision we make, we need GODLY wisdom. When I go to God in prayer, He gives me His wisdom. It’s a mystery, its’ wonderful! 1 Corinthians 2:6-8 (NIV)
God’s Wisdom Revealed by the Spirit:
6 We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. 7 No, we declare God’s wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. 8 None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
STOP, right now, and ask God to give you wisdom. Throughout the day, pay attention to your thought life and use GODLY wisdom in your decisions. Your life, your business, your finances, and your relationships will prosper. You will have joy and peace that you can’t even explain, and God will receive glory! Choose to be wise.

THE OPEN DOOR

Many times we do not move forward with the desires of our heart because we feel inadequate.  I had so many different talents I wanted to pursue, that I didn’t know where to start to be effective for the Kingdom  of God.  I would pursue this, then that… but never really focused on my gifts.  Why?  Because of FEAR!

I felt I wasn’t good enough, didn’t have the right connections, enough education, etc. etc…  When you see, God called me to do something and it’s been in my heart for  a long long time.  I’ve had man tell me that I couldn’t do something, and was downright rude about it.  In my heart I believed I could, but when it came  to really pursuing it, fear crept in and stopped me.

Several years ago, I went through a really hard trial.  I was dying to myself and trying to follow the Lord the best I could, when all hell seemed to come against me.  I couldn’t understand it at the time.  My boss and three other department heads, and one of my employees were speaking against me.  In fact, when I spoke to my boss about my employee cursing me, he said “Oh, she probably didn’t mean it”, and then proceeded to tell me that if I didn’t raise sales in a particular area, that I would be fired after 12  years, and that I had 90 days to change.

Instead of blaming everyone else for being wrong, I asked God what I had done?  I didn’t want to get angry and do something out of anger, so I sought the Lord.   And in the mean time, I raised sales 70% in an area that no one was prospering in!   And during that time when I was so down, the Lord spoke to me one night after a church service.  I’ll never forget, it was January and very cold outside.  My girlfriend suddenly had a pain in her side, so my friends and I immediately started praying for her.  The Holy Spirit visited us in such a special way, it was wonderful.  I asked my friends to pray for me too!  I wanted to feel His touch.

The Holy Spirit not only touched me, He spoke to me.  I will never forget it.  He said, I WILL OPEN A DOOR THAT NO MAN CAN SHUT!

Oh, how wonderful it was… I knew then that my job was safe as long as the Lord wanted me there.  After my 90 day trial was over, I asked my boss to let me know if I was to continue working for that company.  He said he had never seen such a Christ like attitude, and that my job was safe.  I stayed another 2 years, and then my department closed.

That allowed me to start my own business, and begin a journey that I knew God wanted me on.

I will continue to follow the desires of my heart, and know that there is an open door, because I am doing what God called me to do.

Let me ask you…  What is one of the deepest desires you have in your life?  What door is available to you now?  I’d say, WALK THROUGH IT, and let the Lord lead you the rest of the way!

Revelation 3:7-8

And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia, write; These things saith He that is holy, He that is true, He that hath the key of David, He that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth and no man openeth; I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept My word, and hast not denied My name.
