Don’t Waste Opportunity

In Matthew 25 the Bible talks about the ten virgins, the parable of the talents, the sheep and goats.

Five of the virgins were wise and five were foolish, one servant with the five talents earned 5 more, one servant with two talents gained two more also.  But the one who received one talent dug in the ground and hid his Lord’s money. The sheep and the goats are separated as to how they have served others.

Are we ready for the Master’s return? Are we multiplying the money given to us? Are we helping others in need?

I believe the Lord wants us to be faithful in our relationship with him, our finances, and our spiritual gifts.

It takes a close relationship with the Father to be led by the spirit and be ready for his return. It takes money to have what we need and be able to give. It takes compassion, use of our spiritual gifts, time and money to clothe, feed, visit the sick, and prisoners.

None of us as Christians are exempt from these things or from being a good steward over what God has given us.

The one servant who hid his Lord’s money because he was afraid did not take any of it or waste it. We read He gave it back to his master just as he was given.  He was afraid to use what he was given.  What the servant with one talent really wasted was an opportunity!

Today embrace your relationship with God, be a good steward over what you have been given, and don’t waste opportunities!

hinding talent

Matthew 25 “Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept.

“And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming;[a] go out to meet him!’ Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.

11 “Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ 12 But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’

13 “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour[b] in which the Son of Man is coming.

The Parable of the Talents

14 “For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. 15 And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey. 16 Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents. 17 And likewise he who had received two gained two more also. 18 But he who had received one went and dug in the ground, and hid his lord’s money. 19 After a long time the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them.

20 “So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.’ 21 His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ 22 He also who had received two talents came and said, ‘Lord, you delivered to me two talents; look, I have gained two more talents besides them.’ 23 His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’

24 “Then he who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25 And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours.’

26 “But his lord answered and said to him, ‘You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. 27 So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest. 28 Therefore take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents.

29 ‘For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. 30 And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

The Son of Man Will Judge the Nations

31 “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy[c] angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. 32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. 33 And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’

41 “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: 42 for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; 43 I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’

44 “Then they also will answer Him,[d] saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’ 45 Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ 46 And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

DREAM WITH GOD!

street talk 1

I am NOT of this world. I am in the world but not of the world. My mind, soul and spirit should respond to heavenly visions that God gives me. Jesus came to seek and save that which was lost. What we lost because of sin and our sin nature needs to be redeemed in order to live out God’s full plans and purposes for our lives, and that can only be accomplished as we are led by the Spirit of God.

We must submit our will to His will, so that we can see and live out the heavenly vision He calls us to. He became poor so that we would become rich. He gave gifts unto men and gave us power over all the enemy. So why not move forward into your heavenly call and ask God to give you his dreams and plans for your life.

I remember when God called me to write a tract about salvation in plain English and to call it Street talk, so that anyone could understand the message of salvation. I had no idea how to accomplish this. I did not consider myself to be a writer.

Two years later, the vision was still in my mind and my heart. I begin sharing this with a printer that printed materials I needed for marketing. He said Cathy I have a whole skid of paper I will give you, if you will just pay for the printing. I didn’t have the money for printing, but after sharing what the printer told me, my friend said she just received a check and she would give me 3000 dollars for the printing! My mom’s friend knew someone at her church who’s son was a graphic artist. He created the drawing that I gave him from the picture that was in my mind.

All of this was accomplished and I didn’t have one word to go on the tract. I told God I didn’t know how to do this. I asked him to give me a thought and he did, so I started writing. The words fit perfectly on the paper and I received 50,000 tracks!

I worked for a Christian publishing company at the time. Two chaplains came to the publishing house at different times. One of them was going back to Iraq. He asked me if I had a tract that he could have to put on the table because the men were grabbing up whatever they could about God, knowing they might lose their lives. I told him I did, but I didn’t tell him that I wrote it. The other chaplain who came in was from California. I also distributed them in the juvenile correctional facility for girls that I went to weekly. So the tracks that God told me to write, went around the world!

So many testimonies have happened since then. God is so good.

Dream with God let him so you what he wants you to do. Then began to open your mouth and share it with others. He will open the doors and your vision will appear before your very eyes, for His glory.

I would love to hear from you if you have a dream or vision that God has given you.

Until we meet again DREAM WITH GOD!!

POWER OF LEADERSHIP

I believe everyone wants to control and have power over their circumstances. I believe God has given us power! He has given us power and dominion over the earth, in fact He has given us the same supernatural power that Jesus had and more! We are supernatural beings. John 14:12 (NIV) Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

Where there is fear, insecurity, anger and bitterness sometimes people will manipulate others to try control their circumstances. We were never meant to have power over people to use them for our purpose. instead we were called to serve others in the greatest capacity to affect the world around us.

The power in leadership comes from exercising who we are meant to be.

Jesus trained his disciples as leaders and he gave them power! They went out and use their leadership nature that God had given them and found out who they really were in Christ.

Jesus didn’t tell them you can’t be great. instead he told them how to be great! Be a servant! In essence he was saying Use what I have given you to serve others and you will become great.

He has given us power over the enemy, power to get wealth, power over all the enemy, power to cast out demons, heal the sick, raise the dead, set the captives free. He has given us His Word. he has to given us promises.

Your power and leadership will become the strongest it’s ever been when you walk out the purpose God has for your life. Then I believe you will begin to use the supernatural powers he has given you to do everything Jesus did and more!

The power in leadership is being your true self.
