3 Ingredients To Obtain A Goal

Three Ingredients To Obtain A Goal Are:

PATIENCE

FAITH

ACTION

Patience = Peace

Faith = Believing Your Goal Exists

Action = Creating It

James 1: 4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Hebrews 11:

 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Don’t Waste Opportunity

In Matthew 25 the Bible talks about the ten virgins, the parable of the talents, the sheep and goats.

Five of the virgins were wise and five were foolish, one servant with the five talents earned 5 more, one servant with two talents gained two more also.  But the one who received one talent dug in the ground and hid his Lord’s money. The sheep and the goats are separated as to how they have served others.

Are we ready for the Master’s return? Are we multiplying the money given to us? Are we helping others in need?

I believe the Lord wants us to be faithful in our relationship with him, our finances, and our spiritual gifts.

It takes a close relationship with the Father to be led by the spirit and be ready for his return. It takes money to have what we need and be able to give. It takes compassion, use of our spiritual gifts, time and money to clothe, feed, visit the sick, and prisoners.

None of us as Christians are exempt from these things or from being a good steward over what God has given us.

The one servant who hid his Lord’s money because he was afraid did not take any of it or waste it. We read He gave it back to his master just as he was given.  He was afraid to use what he was given.  What the servant with one talent really wasted was an opportunity!

Today embrace your relationship with God, be a good steward over what you have been given, and don’t waste opportunities!

hinding talent

Matthew 25 “Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept.

“And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming;[a] go out to meet him!’ Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.

11 “Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ 12 But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’

13 “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour[b] in which the Son of Man is coming.

The Parable of the Talents

14 “For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. 15 And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey. 16 Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents. 17 And likewise he who had received two gained two more also. 18 But he who had received one went and dug in the ground, and hid his lord’s money. 19 After a long time the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them.

20 “So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.’ 21 His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ 22 He also who had received two talents came and said, ‘Lord, you delivered to me two talents; look, I have gained two more talents besides them.’ 23 His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’

24 “Then he who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25 And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours.’

26 “But his lord answered and said to him, ‘You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. 27 So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest. 28 Therefore take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents.

29 ‘For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. 30 And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

The Son of Man Will Judge the Nations

31 “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy[c] angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. 32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. 33 And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’

41 “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: 42 for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; 43 I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’

44 “Then they also will answer Him,[d] saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’ 45 Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ 46 And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

Born a Leader – But don’t feel like you’re there yet?

Do you KNOW you were born to lead, but don’t feel like you are there yet?

When it seems you just can’t get to where you want to be,  you must Make up your MIND!

Have you ever heard someone say “make up your mind”?  This is a statement to declare that you need to decide which direction you are going to choose, and to do it, no matter what.  When you declare and make a decision in your mind to take a course of action,  then you are actually creating or making up a mental image and thought process in your mind and insisiting that you will do it.  Think about it.  You can decide to keep reading or stop here.  It’s a mental choice.

When a woman is putting on her makeup, or a man is grooming himself, they are changing their appearance,  how they feel, what they think about, ect. So it’s the same process your mind, you can actually change the way your mind thinks and what pictures you want to create as you visualize and see the Leader you were born to be.  Many times we do this without being purposeful in our thinking, like walking, reaching for something, etc.  Our subconscious takes control.  So we must think about and decide what we will allow.

The problem with not feeling like you are the Leader you were born to be is,  you have not MADE UP YOUR MIND TO BECOME THAT PERSON!

Remember the verse of scripture in Psalms 1: 1-3 that says,

Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
    Nor stands in the path of sinners,
    Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
    And in His law he meditates day and night.
He shall be like a tree
    Planted by the rivers of water,
    That brings forth its fruit in its season,
    Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.

pine tree

The pine tree in Indiana  stays green all year round.  Take a look at this picture and say to yourself, I am like this tree.  Notice every other tree has no appearance of life, though they may not be dead, they just aren’t bearing green leaves or fruit.  God gave you the ability to create in your mind the mental image of His purpose for you as a born leader, and he gave you the ability to preform every act as that born Leader!  God wants you to have Life abundantly!

How you get there, is to MAKE UP YOUR MIND!  Make up the mental image, create the emotion, the tenacity, and deliberately do something DAILY without fail in your leadership role.  You get to decide.  Will you meditate on God’s Word and His purpose for you?  Will you allow Him to lead and guide you?  Do you want to become like the tree planted by the rivers of water who’s leaves will not wither, and prosper in whatever you do?

If so, then MAKE UP YOUR MIND – in every way that expresses you to be a leader, every day.  Meditate on the Word of God and His promises for you.  Make your mind work for you and with you.  And above all else, let God be your guide.  Holy Spirit will lead you every step of the way.

As I have heard it said, Get out of your own way!  You have the power to make up or create in your mind whatever you want to become!  Choose TODAY and MAKE UP YOUR MIND to BE A Leader, with God’s purpose in mind.

BE THE LEADER  YOU WERE BORN TO BE!!

DIGGING A NEW WELL – LEADERSHIP

DIGGING A NEW WELL!

It’s time to dig a new well.

Many times in prayer the Lord will give me a vision. This morning I see a shovel going into the ground.

shovel foot

I heard the Lord say, it’s time to dig a new well and leave the past behind! Philippians 3:13-14 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

According to Wikipedia.org Water wells typically range from 3 to 18 metres (9.8–59.1 ft) deep, but in some areas can go deeper than 900 metres (3,000 ft) so the fresh water can come in. A lot of times an old well may become contaminated. That is what your past will do if you allow pain or regret to remain in your heart. When these memories resurface they seek to contaminate your future. God wants you to focus on new and fresh things daily. The Bible tells us to be transformed by the renewing our mind!

This new well is for you to discover, as you leave the past behind, a clear, fresh vision the Lord wants to give you for direction in leadership.

Digging isn’t easy and does take time, but the first step is your act of faith. As you begin to put your foot on the shovel and push it into new ground, God will help you. Soon your digging will be replaced with equipment that will do the work for you. In other words, things will start to come together, and you will have all you need to complete each phase in the area of leadership the Lord has placed inside of you. Then your well will become fresh and living water for others who thirst.

In the Old Testament we read about the woman at the well who came to draw water. The well was a location either outside the city walls or if fortunate, inside the city, for the women to come and draw water they needed to survive. You have living water and leadership skills that contain life giving principles for others!

Today seek God for fresh and new revelation of where He wants to take or what He wants to reveal to you as a leader. Take a step of faith! Put your shovel in the ground and start digging. Ask, seek and knock, God will answer!

Your well has the trips you want to take, the dreams in your heart, revelation, knowledge, wisdom, understanding, gifts, talents, life-giving principles to share with others. Don’t wait. Start digging today.
