Patience = Peace

Faith = Believing Your Goal Exists

Action = Creating It

James 1: 4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Hebrews 11:

 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Don’t Waste Opportunity

In Matthew 25 the Bible talks about the ten virgins, the parable of the talents, the sheep and goats.

Five of the virgins were wise and five were foolish, one servant with the five talents earned 5 more, one servant with two talents gained two more also.  But the one who received one talent dug in the ground and hid his Lord’s money. The sheep and the goats are separated as to how they have served others.

Are we ready for the Master’s return? Are we multiplying the money given to us? Are we helping others in need?

I believe the Lord wants us to be faithful in our relationship with him, our finances, and our spiritual gifts.

It takes a close relationship with the Father to be led by the spirit and be ready for his return. It takes money to have what we need and be able to give. It takes compassion, use of our spiritual gifts, time and money to clothe, feed, visit the sick, and prisoners.

None of us as Christians are exempt from these things or from being a good steward over what God has given us.

The one servant who hid his Lord’s money because he was afraid did not take any of it or waste it. We read He gave it back to his master just as he was given.  He was afraid to use what he was given.  What the servant with one talent really wasted was an opportunity!

Today embrace your relationship with God, be a good steward over what you have been given, and don’t waste opportunities!

Matthew 25 “Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept.

“And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming;[a] go out to meet him!’ Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.

11 “Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ 12 But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’

13 “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour[b] in which the Son of Man is coming.

The Parable of the Talents

14 “For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. 15 And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey. 16 Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents. 17 And likewise he who had received two gained two more also. 18 But he who had received one went and dug in the ground, and hid his lord’s money. 19 After a long time the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them.

20 “So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.’ 21 His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ 22 He also who had received two talents came and said, ‘Lord, you delivered to me two talents; look, I have gained two more talents besides them.’ 23 His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’

24 “Then he who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25 And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours.’

26 “But his lord answered and said to him, ‘You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. 27 So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest. 28 Therefore take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents.

29 ‘For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. 30 And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

The Son of Man Will Judge the Nations

31 “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy[c] angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. 32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. 33 And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’

41 “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: 42 for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; 43 I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’

44 “Then they also will answer Him,[d] saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’ 45 Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ 46 And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

We MUST read God’s Word!

As a leader and child of God, it is our duty and privilege to read the Bible.  Practice reading God’s word daily.  As you mediate and live by the principles written therein, you will stay on the right path and have good success.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 ESV

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.

Psalm 119:105 ESV

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Joshua 1:8 ESV

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

Although we know we should read the Word of God, too many times other things seem to get in the way of this most important area of our lives!  I had good intentions but it seemed I just couldn’t fit reading the Bible into my daily schedule.  I had too much to do and my intentions to read never came about!

Finally I realized that I can never be the person I want to be, if I don’t read the Bible and pray daily!  After all, I claim to be a Christian.  How could I become all God wants me to be if  I’m not allowing the Holy Spirit to teach me?  Now I have a morning routine that keeps me on track for the rest of the day.  If you struggle finding time to read the Word of God, make it a priority and set a schedule to read and pray.  Allow the Holy Spirit to  draw you to read His word.  Start with small chunks of time, and soon you will realize how precious and exciting it is to read God’s word and hear from Him.  Your days will go much smoother and your relationship with the Father will grow.

Waiting on God … It’s a good place

If you are waiting on God, keep waiting. Stay encouraged. Do not fear, it’s a good place to be. Trust the Lord!
Psalm 25:5 Lead me in Your truth and teach me,
For You are the God of my salvation;
On You I wait all the day.
Psalm 25:20-21 Keep my soul, and deliver me;
Let me not be ashamed, for I put my trust in You.
21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me,
For I wait for You.
Psalm 27:14 Wait on the Lord;
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the Lord!
Waiting isn’t easy at times, especially when we don’t know what direction to take or how long we are supposed to wait for transformation to take place.  God doesn’t always tell us when or how, but waiting is a good place to be in, if you trust the Lord.  With trust there is peace.  We know that God said ALL things work together for good to those who love Him.  Keep praying, keep waiting and above all else, TRUST GOD TO FULFILL HIS PROMISES!  He always keeps His word.  You have nothing to fear.  Stay encouraged and wait on the Lord.  His timing is perfect.  Maintain peace, be joyful, gain knowledge and wisdom in the priceless waiting period.  You will learn and grow as you wait on the Lord. Whatever you are waiting for will come to pass!

Don’t Think Small!

God doesn’t think small and neither should we, after all… We have the mind of Christ!
1 Corinthians 2: 9 But as it is written:
“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

2:16 For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?”[e] But we have the mind of Christ.
So many times we have our own way of thinking… Inside a much smaller box than God’s  vision!   We never see the big picture or we tend to get discouraged during the process of change and quit!  The key is to know GOD’S plan and then take action steps to see the vision come to reality.  If God gave you a dream, THINK BIG!  If it’s for the a good cause, God will make a way that will blow your mind as you watch Him supply every need!  Seek Him for direction and stay the course.  If you will step out in faith and take action steps to accomplish His will He will meet you according to His will and YOUR faith.  Think BIG!  You have the mind of Christ!

It’s Not Always As It Seems…

When you are not satisfied with life, go to God.

Things are not always as we think they are, even during the hard times in our life.  It during those times especially that we should go to God.  Go to Him.  In this verse of scripture God says twice for us to listen.    It is hard to do when your thoughts take over and all you can think about it is the current situation.  But remember what He says, His thoughts are not your thoughts, His ways are not your ways.  His thoughts are higher than ours.  How awesome is our God!!!  He sees, knows  and has  the answer. Going to God will change everything, mainly us! Our thought process and emotions will change when we go to God and take time to listen to what He says, then trust Him to work it out… HIS WAY.

MARK HIS WORDS!  Whatever He says in His Word is what to trust in.  God cannot lie! Whatever He has written in His Word is definite.  His Word will not return void.  Go to God, then listen to Him and believe what His word says about the situation.  Search the scriptures for in them you will have life.  The Word doesn’t always spell out what we  should do specifically, but they do tell you who God is and what He says He will do for you.

God wants you to have a life of peace and abundance through Him.   “Incline your ear, and come to Me.

Isaiah 55New King James Version (NKJV)

An Invitation to Abundant Life

55 “Ho! Everyone who thirsts,
Come to the waters;
And you who have no money,
Come, buy and eat.
Yes, come, buy wine and milk
Without money and without price.
Why do you spend money for what is not bread,
And your wages for what does not satisfy?
Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good,
And let your soul delight itself in abundance.
Incline your ear, and come to Me.
Hear, and your soul shall live;
And I will make an everlasting covenant with you—
The sure mercies of David.
Indeed I have given him as a witness to the people,
A leader and commander for the people.
Surely you shall call a nation you do not know,
And nations who do not know you shall run to you,
Because of the Lord your God,
And the Holy One of Israel;
For He has glorified you.”

Seek the Lord while He may be found,
Call upon Him while He is near.
Let the wicked forsake his way,
And the unrighteous man his thoughts;
Let him return to the Lord,
And He will have mercy on him;
And to our God,
For He will abundantly pardon.

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts.

10 “For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven,
And do not return there,
But water the earth,
And make it bring forth and bud,
That it may give seed to the sower
And bread to the eater,
11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

12 “For you shall go out with joy,
And be led out with peace;
The mountains and the hills
Shall break forth into singing before you,
And all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress tree,
And instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree;
And it shall be to the Lord for a name,
For an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.”

Believe in Yourself!

walt disney

Someone out there believes in you, but first you must believe in yourself!  God gave each of us a measure of faith, it’s up to us whether we use it or not.

I’m reminded of the parable of talents.  God gave three people talents to use and grow.  One out of the three hid his talent because of fear.  What happened to his talent?  It was buried, did nothing for no one, died.  What he didn’t do with his talent, someone else did!!  This is what happens to dreams when we do not pursue them.  Remember preparation for the dream is the most important part.  Once the dream is tangible, there is no more preparation only maintaining the dream then onward to another meaningful dream.

If you do not believe in yourself, you will lack confidence and you will not do the work required to achieve your dreams, period!  Believing in one’s self isn’t prideful, it’s a certainty that what you want to accomplish will HELP YOU in various ways as you learn, gain knowledge and prosper, but more importantly believing in yourself will HELP OTHERS.  If you do not believe in yourself, your dream may never be a reality.

It’s time to lay aside the guilt, past mistakes and failures, the I don’t know how’s, why me, and any other lame excuses and it’s time to believe in you.  Believe that what you want to accomplish can be done, and YOU CAN do it!  Believe that there is a way, and it will be done.  Believe that you can’t and you won’t.

Believe in yourself and watch what happens.  Write down all your past successes.  Your next success is waiting on you to believe in yourself!  Next keep a journal of I CANs.  Write down your dreams.  Believe that you will are going to figure it out.  Believe there is always a way and you will find it.
